Michaela’s Margarita
I think if I had to name my “go-to” drink it would either be a spicy margarita or a dirty martini.. I know, very different - but I just can’t pick my favorite! A spicy margarita is just perfect any night of the week, easy to make at home and makes you feel like you are on vacation in Mexico. I personally like my margarita very spicy and not sweet. I made up my own recipe because I find that the pre-made mixes are sooo sweet, have a ridiculously high sugar content and are full of calories. This recipe is so easy, you will realize you never need to buy a pre-made mix again! I find that shaking it with jalapeño slices makes it spicy enough for me but there are recipes out there for infusing your own vodka or making a spicy simple syrup - but who’s got time for that? ;) If you’re not a fan of spice just leave out the jalapeño, and if you need it sweeter add some honey or agave. Hope you enjoy!
What you need:
+ tequila
+ triple sec
+ lime
+ fresh jalapeño
+ ice
+ TJs chili lime seasoning/tajin
What to do:
+ In a cocktail shaker combine 1 shot of tequila, 1 shot of triple sec, the juice from 1 lime and jalapeño slices (the more you add the spicier it will be- I usually add 3-4 slices.)
+ Fill with ice and shake vigorously.
+ Rim your glass with chili lime seasoning or tajin- or plain salt if that’s what you prefer
+Fill glass with ice, pour margarita over & garnish with fresh lime and jalapeño slice.
Cheers!
Notes-
+ You can make more than 1 at a time, just use a ratio of 1:1: for tequila and triple sec and include 1 lime per drink.
+ Add honey or agave if you wish to have it sweeter
